Seniors Residence in Latvia 2020/2021

Opis działania

Daily activities with seniors, mostly in morning hours, but could be adjusted. This is not residence for poor seniors, as many of them have relatives who just can’t take 24/7 care of their parents/grandparents. Activities include reading newspapers and books together, talking about past, future and other topics, doing workshops (painting, singing, piano, cinema etc.), walking around. Excursions and visits together with other institutions can be arranged (e.g., kindergartens, schools, NGOs etc.). Communication language: Latvian, but Russian and English can be useful for both-sides learning process, body and emotional language works perfectly here.

Zakwaterowanie, wyżywienie i transport

Accommodation provided in rental appartment together with other volunteers, 1-3 persons per room. Food money 150 euros/month provided for meals or cooking. Bikes are available for volunteers and is good way to commute in dry season (April-October). Valmiera town is not too big and previous volunteers have never used public transport, but city buses are available. Pocket money 120 euros.

Szkolenie w trakcie działania

*On-arrival and mid-term training will be organized by National Agency in Latvia. *Latvian language lessons will be provided by online tools.

Profil uczestnika

From any Programme country (EU, North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Turkey). 18-30 years. Creativity and initiative to come up with your own activities and take lead on them. You should enjoy communication with elderly people.
