CESD is an independent organization which is consisted from four different departments.
a) Research and Training Department
b) Media and Information Technology (MIT) Department
c) Social Policies and Governance Department
d) Department for Economic Development
CESD has a great experience in management of different Erasmus+ projects. During the last two years, it has participated in 22 Erasmus+ projects, Training courses, Youth exchanges and EVS projects, which have been focused on diversity, integration, inclusion and other related issues.
CESD is open to receive volunteers that are interested to give their contribution within the career center or in the youth clubs that are established within the CESD such as:
• Debate Club
• Programmers Club
• Project Management Club
In each Youth Club, there are local and international volunteers involved. They represent a great possibility for youngsters to be engaged in different activities and also take self-initiatives. The activities are designed in a way that allows youngsters to feel included and learn by doing. All the workshops, round tables, public debates, meetings are organized in by the youngsters in cooperation with the administrative staff of CESD.
Volunteering and Voluntary work is one of the pillars that have been strongly promoted by CESD. There is a great increase also of local community interest in volunteering. Volunteers have a great opportunity to explore Kosovo, the youngest country with the youngest population in Europe. CESD is suited in a very friendly university environment (ILIRIA College) in Prishtina. The Volunteer apartments are located 15 up to 20 minutes walking distance from the city center and just 2 minutes from the working office. You can always be in touch with different local youngsters and also you can participate in different youth activities and concerts that are organized in Prishtina.
Life in Prishtina is nice and safe. People like to go out and they really like foreigners. You can see everyone walking in the streets, meeting in the cafes. The city is relatively cheap and you can live easily with the food and the pocket money you receive from the project.
Food is really tasty and also very affordable in Prishtina.
Kosovo offers great traveling possibilities; you can visit entire places in Kosovo in very cheap travel cost. You can start with Prizren. It takes nearly 2 hours to go Prizren by bus. Here you can see a lot of cultural diversity that has been kept from the ottoman time. There is a great view from the castle. If you are in summer you can participate in the DOKU Festival, the biggest and the greatest short documentary festival in Kosovo and one of the biggest in Europe. You can visit all Kosovo attractions at very cheap price. From Prishtina there are also great connections to other countries such as: Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania or Serbia, which we suggest that you visit during the weekends. Prishtina is also famous for night life. Parties are organized in different concepts in this place, with different pubs that offer different variety of music and possibilities.
During 2015-2016, CESD in Cooperation with ILIRIA College (Higher Education Institution in Kosovo), have provided Legal Services under voluntary basis for 1,300 citizens that belong to different Vulnerable and Marginalized in Kosovo under voluntary basis. Media and Information Technology Department of CESD has played a crucial role in informing citizens and increasing awareness about inclusion, human rights and Diversity. CESD has also e great cooperation with local radio station and TV station such as: Radio+ and NEXT TV in Kosovo. These entities will be engaged for dissemination of the project results, and also give an example of how media portraits marginalized groups in the society.
Despite the professional orientation of the activities, CESD is promoting Non Formal Education and Informal Learning. CESD through its departments, periodically organizes trainings, workshops, seminars with youngsters in order to provide them new skills in different areas, to introduce team work, time management, critical thinking, development of interpersonal skills, communication skills etc. During the trainings to participants are provided the needed instructions so they can reflect on the learning process and also they are supported to take self-initiatives.
