Descripción de la organización:

Aims: Our aim is to work with vulnerable homeless women and to empower them towards independent living, through helping them to make informed choices about their lives. By providing a range of services which are housed in various facilities in the Project, over 7,000 women have been helped, since a major refurbishment in 1996 in our residential units. This is alongside the thousands who have been helped by the other services we have offered over the last century.
Target groups: The Church Army Marylebone Project in London is specifically for homeless and at risk women. Its Bradbury House Hostel provides a total of 61 beds for homeless women divided into 4 different units: Emergency beds-4, General Needs- 43, Mental Health- 14 and Complex Needs-10. Adjacent to the hostel is a Day Centre for homeless women, which opened in 1996 as the first women’s day centre in London. Nearby is Elgood/Portman House, which provides temporary accommodation for 40 homeless women with low support needs.
Regular activities: Information and advice are offered in the areas of welfare benefits and resettlement. It is here that homeless women have access to assertiveness, literacy, numeracy and vocational training, as well as experiencing a safe space in a caring community.
