Local Government Kindergarten no. 38 dates back to 1977. Since June 2011, as a Kindergarten which for years has been promoting pro-ecological attitudes, it has proudly borne the name "Green Teddy Bear Academy". The leading body is the Municipality of Krakow.

In the building, apart from classrooms, at the disposal of children and teachers are psychological-logopedic office, teachers' room, kitchen and its facilities. The building is surrounded by a garden for children, in which there is a sandpit, a small asphalt part with tables for educational activities. There are six kindergarten units with 25 children each, but every year the number of candidates to the kindergarten still exceeds the number of free places. The teaching staff consists of 17 teachers, supported by 16 administrative and service staff. The offer includes pre-school education classes, including English, and additional free-of-charge activities such as corrective gymnastics, Catholic religion for 5-6 year olds, ballroom dancing, active music listening. The Kindergarten employs a speech therapist, a psychologist, a rehabilitation teacher. The Kindergarten performs its duties within the scope of psychological and pedagogical support for children with difficulties according to their needs.
In order to ensure the development of children's interests and talents, meetings with interesting people presenting their passions as well as people from the world of culture and art take place periodically. The children are also invited to take part in a number of family competitions held on the premises of the Kindergarten as well as in external competitions.
We have always been actively involved in the life of the local community. For years we have been cooperating with the District VI Council and institutions located in its area. We cooperate with Primary Schools No. 153 and No. 50, General Secondary School Complex No. 8, "Jordanówka" housing club, "Bronowianka" sports club, Fire Brigade, Municipal Guard, Police, "Widok" housing association, Parish, Library and Municipal Social Assistance Center, Sanitary Inspection, Health Clinic, dentist's office.
Since October 2011, in cooperation with the Youth Development and Integration Association STRIM , we have been hosting volunteers under the programme: Youth in Action, Erasmus +, European Solidarity Corps.
We are open to the needs of others. We take part in charity actions: collecting pennies, bottle tops, money for monkeys in the zoo, donations for the animal shelter, books for children in hospitals, we cooperate with the Polish Red Cross. In our everyday work with children we have the good of our planet in mind, that is why we shape among our pupils pro-ecological and pro-health attitudes, we also carry out numerous prophylactic projects. We participate in numerous campaigns promoting care for nature, choice of ecological food products, waste segregation, water and energy saving and health care.
Every year the kindergarten hosts Christmas Eve celebrations, Grandparents' Day and Parents' Day performances.Together with the children we celebrate Preschool Education Day, Welcome Spring, Independence Day, 3rd May Constitution Day, Teddy Bear Day, Tree Day, Andrzejki, Carnival Ball, Earth Day, Kindergarten Farewell, Foreign Language Song Contest. As a part of child-parent-teacher integration, during the Covid-19 pandemic, all events held at the kindergarten premises were video recorded and sent to the parents of the children.
Throughout the year we go on numerous walking and bus trips in and around Krakow, we visit museums, monuments, cultural institutions, and we organize meetings with interesting people. We participate in educational workshops and theatre performances.
We are also a training base for students of Krakow's universities of pedagogy, speech therapy, nursing and dietetics.
The kindergarten is very popular among school and secondary school students who work there as volunteers.
For 18 years the kindergarten has been publishing a newspaper - a quarterly called "Echo Nasz Przedszkola", in which one of the columns belongs to European Volunteers.
