Eko Centar Latinovac (ECL) was founded in Latinovac, Croatia, in 1995 and received its legal status as non-profit NGO in 1998.
Our main goals are:
- to promote and protect nature while preserving and understanding the diversity of living beings, develope and promote permaculture, sustainable development and living, and promote the principles of ecological and sustainable agriculture and exchange of good practices
- to support personal and community development and promote healthy lifestyles
- to promote volunteer work and philanthropy and encourage the development of volunteer centers
- to encourage intercultural dialogue and exchange and intergenerational and social solidarity
- to encourage sustainable development of rural communities through the development of social entrepreneurship and networking and cooperation of various local community stakeholders
- development of slow rural tourism.
Our main activities are: permaculture education in theory and practice and the construction of educational showcase properties, volunteer caravan (mobile volunteer center), intercultural exchange and learning, community development, sustainable agriculture and cooperation and networking.
Our target groups are all citizens of Požeško-slavonska county with an accent on children and young people with less opportunities and from rural areas.
