opis organizacji

We inform young people… and “You don’t have to know everything” is our motto.
Jugend:info NÖ is the Lower Austrian youth information centre, specialised on the preparation and mediation of non-commercial information suitable for young people. Youth information services support young people in their development and provide free, up-to-date, relevant and understandable information. With these actions, our services and activities promote the empowerment of young people. Information provided by us is available on an anonymous basis, free of charge, accessible in an easy-to-understand format for our target groups.
In addition, Jugend:info NÖ represents the regional office for the EU Youth Programmes Erasmus+ Youth in Action and European Solidarity Corps. In this function, we promote the EU Youth Programs via different channels, offer consultancy, build and maintain networks, support young Lower Austrians to go abroad, and much more.
Our target groups include young people (age 13-30) as well as people who work with adolescents and in the field of youth work (such as parents, teachers, youth workers, politicians, multipliers, etc.). We inform, advise, consult, lead, support, empower, network…
Our team consists of experts in the fields of education, labour, law, opportunities for young people to go abroad, life from A to Z, Youth card Lower Austria, municipality services and funding opportunities.
The staff members of Jugend:info NÖ have a wide-ranging and comprehensive overview and insight in different fields of non-formal education. Thus, we act as knowledge hub and facilitate multi-sectoral collaborations. Our public premises in St. Pölten and Wr. Neustadt are open for the general public as well as for special events and meetings. In addition, our communication channels include Social media (Facebook, Instagram) our website and target group-oriented channels such as newsletters, workshops, lectures, trade shows, and many more. Our team keeps up to date as we regularly participate in training courses.
Regular activities include the development and processing of up-to-date, easy to understand and target oriented information adapted to the needs of young people and those who work with them. These are disseminated and spread via brochures that we develop, via different online media channels and press conferences. Besides our key topics, last year’s thematic fields included COVID-19, racism, safer internet, addiction prevention, sustainable development, conscious festive culture, data protection etc. Each year, we have over 11.000 requests which are answered by our consultants. Our team holds workshops at schools on topics such as youth protection legislation, learning tips, opportunities to go abroad, and tips for job application.
Our focus on quality assurance and management, sustainability and future viability involves regular evaluations and adaptions of our offers and products with the inclusion of external experts.
The ESC volunteering participants will be involved in most of our activities, such as development of up-do-date, easy to understand and target oriented information material and content, performance of workshops, participation in trainings, support with the planning, organisation and implementation of projects in the fields of addiction prevention, sustainable development, health and many more. They are encouraged to focus on the topic they are personally interested in and to develop – with our support and guidance – offers for our target groups. This could be online content for our social media channels, games and methods for workshops, project ideas e.g. in the field of sustainable development, etc. They may support in municipality-youth-processes or offer their creative skills, share their favourite relaxing music playlist to our community or help designing our public premises.
The ESC volunteering participants are not involved in activities related to the regional office of Erasmus+ Youth in Action and the European Solidarity Corps.
The ESC Jobs&Traineeships participants will be selected to work in a specific field of Jugend:info NÖ. Depending on their experience, education and skills, they may be involved in the fields of law, education, social topics or sustainable development.
Their work may include co-conception, planning and implementation of workshops, the development of target group oriented social media campaigns, the consultancy to specific topics, the development of new products and offers etc.
We also support Lower Austrians to participate in the ESC and prepare them for their ESC volunteering, accompany them during their activity and ensure a good return after the volunteering activity.
Inclusion as described in the program guide is a focus of all of our areas of work, by having a strong supportive network, knowledge to support young people with various obstacles and resources to be acquired in case of mental support or necessities of physical adaptations.
