Depaul is a charity that supports vulnerable people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide accommodation and key services to people who are often multiply excluded from other services. Depaul is part of a wider International Group structure Depaul International; our host projects for this programme are situated in Dublin. Our services span community and outreach, vulnerable families, harm reduction accommodation services, criminal justice and mental health services.
Depaul works from low threshold principles to offer homeless and disadvantaged people the opportunity to fulfil their potential and move towards an independent and positive future.
Our vision is of a society in which everyone has a place to call home, and a stake in their community.
Our mission is to end homelessness and change the lives of those affected by it.
Our staff, service users and volunteers are drawn from all walks of life – other faiths or no faith at all. It is non-judgmental in the same way that Vincent de Paul was non-judgmental. Our focus is on innovation and action.
We have hosted participants at five accredited projects, and would like to receive accreditation for an additional two. The existing and potential host projects are as follows:
Sundial House: Supported housing accommodation for people with a history of street drinking
Orchid House: A temporary accommodation project for men, women and couples with alcohol addiction related issues
Back Lane: Emergency and long-term accommodation for homeless men with varied needs
Peters Place: A low-threshold short-term (6 months) accommodation service for people aged 18-35, who have complex needs
Tus Nua: A specialised accommodation service for women with complex needs, who have just left prison
Little Britain Street: High support short-term accommodation aimed at reducing the amount of time spent by service users in homeless services
We would like additional accreditation for and a Quality Label for:
Rendu Apartments: A short-term accommodation service for women and women with children who are homeless
