Istanbul Arel University was founded on 18th May, 2007 by “Kemal Gözükara Education and Culture Foundation”.

Istanbul Arel University aims to;
Provide a well-qualified, professional and outstanding university education,
Contribute to the social and economic development of Turkey,
Improve education oppurtunities with the help of all its academic and administrative personnel,
Ensure students’ learning and success at associate, undergraduate and graduate levels
Provide education oppurtunities for the successful students who have financial difficulties,
Increase the capacity for researches and scholarships both in Turkey and at international level, in order to meet the educational, economic, social and cultural requirements of Turkey,
Be a university that has established an international and global research network and carries out joint projects with international well-known universities through this network.

Istanbul Arel University has adopted as a principle to provide its students with a modern higher education at international academic standarts, since this is the basic way to ensure that our country earns the reputation it deserves among world countries. Istanbul Arel University aims to raise individuals who are devoted to principles and reforms of Atatürk; believe in existence of Republic of Turkey as a secular, democratic and social law state; who research, think globally, respect universal values; and who are adhered to national values and open to scientific, technologic developments.

Youth Work Application and Research Center (YOUTHAREL)
YOUTHAREL was established to enable and develop the youth information and youth works. We are aiming to establish new partnerships with individuals and organizations which are working in this field, take responsibility to be executive and develop their activities which will be implemented via cultural, sport and art activities.

AREL provides support to young and adult people’s education process since 2015. We aim to update standards in line with the developing world and constantly follow the changes in the world. Within the Erasmus+ Programme of European Commissions, we provide project opportunities for the members of Higher Education within the frame of Student Study Mobility, Student Intern Mobility, Teaching Mobility and Staff Mobility. Additionally, International Youth Exchanges, Training Course Programmes, Seminars, Conferences, Job-Shadowing Visits, Work Visits and Volunteering Opportunities for young people and youth workers without any language or education requirements.It is possible to participate in programmes and projects in the European and Non-European countries with Erasmus+ Programme of European Union. Erasmus+ is a tool that allows us to import and export information, technology and innovations. It also gives us the opportunity to disseminate the scientific work of our university abroad. Erasmus+ is also a tool to use and disseminate the intercultural learning, non-formal education, informal education, peer education, learning by doing education and lifelong learning education systems.

International Office & Erasmus+ Office
Istanbul Arel University, since its foundation, has been acting with the vision of being a world-class university. Within this context, and conscious of the changes in the globalising world, the University gives great importance to developing and diversifying international relations. Arel University International Office has been established for this purpose. In this respect, International Office has accepted international students since 2009. As for the distribution of students who choose us, our students are mainly from Middle East, Caucasia, Central Asia and Africa.

Istanbul Arel University, while rapidly progressing on its way to being a world-class university, develops cooperation with universities in countries outside the European Higher Education Area and makes arrangements for admission of students from these countries. Within this context, principal objectives of the International Office include increasing opportunities for enhancing cooperation with universities in America, Canada, Africa, Middle East, Japan and China. “Directive on International Student Admissions” has been established to systematize international student admissions, and an increasing number of international students from various countries have been admitted to the University.
