Descripción de la organización:
From 1997 Bethel’s Centre of Pastoral Care has helped people with lesser possibilities, especially children and youth, to integrate socially into Estonian society, by supporting them morally and materially.
Children, who get regular help from us, usually come from disadvantaged families with a lack of parental care. These children can stay in Bethel’s in case they are ready to attend school again. There is also a day-care centre for children who are living at home with their parents. In day care children can have a warm meal, use the shower and washing machine. We have educators and local volunteers to help them with their school work and to take them out to different events.
We also provide these children and their parents with food packages, clean clothes and things needed in school. We often work with children’s parents as well, sending them to courses and helping them to find legal job or a proper place to live, as by helping parents we help the children in these families.
Bethel’s Centre of Pastoral has social worker, educators, teachers etc as the staff to help the children. We also have local friends and volunteers to support us.
Our target group are children with difficult backgrounds and with social behaving problems.
There are approximately 10-15 children living in our Church all the time and about 20 children visiting day care every day from 2 PM until 6 PM.
