Description of organisation

The youth centre Hugo was build in 2011 and is an association of the Workers´Welfare (AWO). It is a great space for kids and juveniles in the age from twelve to twentyone years. They can spend their freetime in this open house. Our working goal is helping young people to develop different kinds of abilities to shape their freetime and to encourage them to take part in educational programs after school.
For that the youth center Hugo focuses on the drop-in program, which offers a variaty of regular proposals. Each day young people can discover a special activity. According to the interests of the youngsters music, sports, media, art, youth education and youth policy are our main focus. During vacation time we also arange special offers such as excursions.
The aim is besides an intersting free time, that children and young people develop projects in which they learn to implement their own ideas and interests. Codetermination and participation opportunities for children and juveniles play a prominent role. The principles of the youth work ist based on voluntariness, easy access and appreciation towards young people. The youth centre gives young people the space to develop their social and personal skills. The work is carried out, based on young peopels everyday life and in their own social surroundings. Within the residential area we collaborate with several partners who are engaged in youth work.

Offers and projects:
- table kicker, table tennis, gaming-corner, open kitchen-area
- bandcoaching and rehearsal rooms
- concerts, poetry slam, movie nights
- sewing, drawing, diy-projects
- gaming, lets play-workshops, streaming
- open time for football, basketball or volleyball
- counselling for juveniles according to their daily life (school, relationsships, family, perspectives for the future, drugs, etc.)

opening time:
- Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri: from 2 to 7 pm
- events on Fri/Sat: from 7 to 1 pm
- Sunday: once a month from 2 to 6 pm
