Description of organisation

Domkirken Menighet (The Cathedral of Tønsberg) is a part of the Tønsberg Kirkelige Fellesråd. The youth cafe where the volunteers work, belongs to the Cathedral.
Since the cafe is located near the bus and train station, youth also come from other cities to visit. Our focus is to work against drugs and make the cafe a safe place where everyone can feel included and build new friendships.
The deacon in the Cathedral is the leader of the café, and works alongside the youth-workers. There are also some other volunteers that help run the cafe.
The target demographic of the cafe is youth between the ages of 13-20. Many of the youth who come struggle with emotional trauma. There are between 15-40 youth visiting the cafe when it’s open.
We also run other activities for the youth coming to the cafe, so that they can learn to understand different issues and build stronger relationships with each other.
