Cirkus in Beweging is a nonprofit organization that uses circus arts to stimulate the individual, social, motoric and creative development of children and young adults using
creative physical and artistic disciplines like circus, parkour and percussion. The activities of Cirkus In Beweging are deployed on a local, regional and international level.
From it’s start, Cirkus in Beweging has participated in a lot of international projects and exchanges. As a circus school we promote diversity in every layer of our organization. Diversity in abilities, social and economic background, culture or gende is something we have always encourgaed throughout all our work.
Our main target group consists of children, young adults and adults. We have a yearly average of 1300 children and adult participants on a weekly basis. Next to our regular participants we reach up to 500 participants on a yearly basis through different tailored workshops for schools, social, youth and sport organizations.
Our main activities are:
- weekly circusclasses,
- specific tailored workshops for schools, social, sport and youth organisations,
- workshops and training for teachers, educators and youth leaders
- performances in circus-theatre in Belgium and abroad
- pedagogic production groups
- workshops for people with fewer opportunities
- training for circus trainers in cooperation with circuscentrum, the Flemish umbrella organisation of circus schools.
