KUFO is an association for educators in the Norwegian Church (Lutheran church). The association has aprox. 400 members. The work of the organization falls into different categories:1) Work for legal rights, and control that the rights and interest of its members in relation to their employers. (our role as a Union)2) Work for education, competence and possibilities to gain new competence wile in work trough seminars, conferences and relations with universities. 3) Be and active partner in arranging courses and seminars for educational and youth workers in church.4) Create meeting places for individual educators and create regional groups of members who support and help each other as human, colleagues and in spiritual matters. These groups arrange courses and seminars for members and other in topics related to challenges, methods and practical issues related to work and activities.4) Be an important factor in the church’s decision making processes, Specially when education and work with kids and young people are in question. 5) Building network across professions, national and cultural boarders who make new relations and new ideas grow and become new activities in work with kids and young people. Promote youth democracy. To reach these goals the association have an office in the church house in Oslo. Our staffs are just one secretary general who works from our office in Oslo. As an association we have our board and regional branches. Each regional branch have a board and are responsible for activities on the local and regional level.Information to the members and branches are mainly done by our website and e-mails. Each year we have different courses in Norway and sometimes abroad. We are currently working on and developing a network of artist and church workers with the purpose of learning and developing educational methods build on art, and also developing methods for workshops on church services where art can play a major role. Our target groups are on many levels:-Members working in churches and organizations around the country-Possible future members-Possible students to start on a education for work in the church/ Universities and schools-Partners in the work field Universities, educational organisations, church organisations, local churches, employers, sister organizations for priests, deacons and others.-Children and young people that ours members work with.-Politicians and diction making bodies. -Media and culture institutions.
