Nationale Naturlandschaften e. V. (formerly EUROPARC Deutschland) is the umbrella organization of German national parks, biosphere reserves and wilderness areas and national section of EUROPARC Federation, the European umbrella organization of protected areas. Together with Verband Deutscher Naturparke, it is brand leader of “Nationale Naturlandschaften” – an alliance of approx. 140 nature parks, national parks, biosphere reserves and wilderness areas.
Main activities are:
• exchange of experiences and information between members
• management of projects and programs in cooperation with members, state and federal authorities, nature conservation organizations, foundations and companies in order to solve environmental and social problems, i.a. in the field of nature conservation and climate protection, volunteering, professional visitor care, environmental education, sustainable regional development
• implementation and development of the brand “Nationale Naturlandschaften”
• preparation of reports, studies, publications and exhibitions
• training and qualification of employees of National Natural Landscapes
• organization of specialist conferences and workshops
Target groups are employees of protected areas, decision makers on regional and nationwide level, residents and businesspeople in protected areas as well as visitors and volunteers of all ages, educational institutions and their target groups, scientific institutions, companies, donors, professional and general public.
