Opis organizacji

Primary School No. 23 named after John Paul II in Kielce is located in the Świętokrzyskie Province. The school is located on the outskirts of the city and is very well connected with the center of Kielce and with the place of volunteers’ residence. There is a bus stop near our school. This year 209 students attend school, including people with special educational needs. There is also a kindergarten department in the school. The facility employs 29 teachers, including two teachers who co-organize education. The staff is experienced, constantly improving their qualifications, using the English language to a degree that allows good communication with foreign volunteers. The facility is connected to the Internet fiber-optic network of Kielce. It has a computer lab, a mobile computer lab equipped with computers, laptops purchased in 2021 and financed by the ESF project "Creative-Innovative-Competent". In a school library and in a teachers' room there are computer stations, multifunctional devices and a photocopier, which can be used by volunteers. There is a canteen at school and, as in previous years, it will provide volunteers with a tasty meal in a form of lunch. The school base is very well equipped and adapted to the challenges of the moderneducational process. It meets all the required safety standards and the organization of the educational process. Our educational institution has experience in working with foreign volunteers, as it has been hosting people who have participated in various EVS projects for five years. All school employees are committed to ensuring that each volunteer feels very good and can carry out voluntary activities. Each of them has space for their own development. The school is a small institution, safe for every child and with the support of parents who are always willing to cooperate with the school and engage in its life. In many undertakings, the local community supports the facility, e.g. in the competition entitled "The most beautiful Easter palm".
We work for the natural environment. We sort rubbish at school. We take care of ecology. A garden was made where children, with the help of a volunteer who stayed at school last year, sowed and planted flowers. We want to show our students, their parents and teachers that working for others is beneficial and brings satisfaction. We want to show young people - foreign volunteers in their specific activities, e.g. involvement in the Noble Gift campaign, in the competition "The most beautiful Easter palm", in the collection of necessary things for animals in a local shelter, preparing Christmas cards for the residents of the Long-Term Care Center, preparing and conducting workshops for students on tolerance, digital hygiene, running a European learning corner or while playing in the school common room. Showing various activities, we want to introduce the idea of multiculturalism and global education. The stay of foreign volunteers and their activities are an excellent example of work for the benefit of the school and local community.
