The Starry Start of Talents Foundation was registered on 8 May 2003 by Sofia City Court, Bulgaria, Company Case No. 4069/2003 and has been entered into the Register of non-profit legal entities. Since its establishment, the Foundation has worked entirely in the field of child and youth activities aimed at promoting talented children and young people in the artistic field, by organizing and assisting in the holding of contests and festivals in Bulgaria; informal training of young talents in music and dance as well as persons with fewer opportunities in their public performances; furthering the exchange of young talents from Bulgaria and other European Union member-states; carrying out charity work in support of young talents; and developing the voluntary services in Bulgaria. In 2005 the Foundation received license No. 0107/06.10.2005 from the National Agency for Child Protection for its project "Mobile children center for rehabilitation and integration of talented children with fewer opportunities."
The Foundation successfully completed and set as a good practice a project under the European Commission's Youth Programme - "Art without borders: towards building a united Europe", aimed at integrating talented children with fewer opportunities (visually and hearing impaired) into society.
On 1 June 2006 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the National Palace of Culture (NPC) in its Hall 1 the Foundation premiered the youth dance musical "My World" by the composer Grisha Petkov. The performance was part of the NPC's Õ² Salon des Arts and won first prize. Talented children and young people, including ones with fewer opportunities from Sofia and Plovdiv took part in it. The spectacle was filmed and aired many times on broadcasting and cable television. Flowers and greetings were sent by the President of Bulgaria Mr. Georgi Parvanov, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Ministry of Culture and Sofia Municipality.
" On 8 December 2006 the Foundation, jointly with the National Agency for Youth and Sport organized and participated in the closing ceremony of the 2006 European youth campaign "All different - All equal" in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture under the patronage of Ms. Vesela Lecheva, President of the National Agency.
" In 2007 the Starry Start of Talents Foundation carried out the following activities:
" - Participated together with the National Agency for Youth and Sport in the organization and conduct of the closing ceremony of the 2006 European youth campaign "All different - All equal" in Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture. There was a big concert with talented children and youth from Sofia, Plovdiv and Sliven under the patronage of Ms. Vesela Lecheva, President of the National Agency for Youth and Sport;
" - Completed a project entitled "Musical and dance workshop 'Zvezden mig' (Starry moment)" under the 2006-2007 youth action programme of the National Agency for Youth and Sport;
" - On 12 August 2007, together with the National Agency for Youth and Sport and the National Center - European Youth Programmes and Initiatives and Ski Center Aleko, the Foundation celebrated the International Youth Day by organizing a big open-air concert, in which young people from Sofia, some of whom with fewer opportunities, took part.
The Foundation has received recognition for its activities from the Presidency of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the National Agency for Child Protection, the National Agency for Youth and Sport and Sofia Municipality.
The staff of the Foundation consists of three founding members, an accountant and several young volunteers. The volunteers assist in the development of the youth voluntary activities and youth exchanges under the Youth in Action Programme.
The target group of the activities of the Starry Start of Talents Foundation is talented children and young people, including ones with fewer opportunities. The target group for Action 1 - Youth for Europe and Action 2 - European Voluntary Service of the Youth in Action Programme is motivated young people from Bulgaria who want to meet other young people from different European countries and to learn about diverse cultures, as well as acquire informal knowledge and skills.
The activities of the Foundation develop the personal qualities of young people and provide them with opportunities to engage in useful enterprises in order to make full use of their free time.
The Foundation has an office furnished with the necessary technical equipment for communication and administration of its activity, as well as a special room for conducting information meetings with young people aimed at introducing them to the opportunities provided by the "Erasmus +" Programme.
