Salesian youth centre of Don Bosco (http://ostrava.sdb.cz/) is a place for children and young people mainly from socially excluded areas in Ostrava. The mission of the centre is upbringing and education mainly of Roma children from Ostrava based on Christian principles with the main objective to prepare them for the life in the society. The centre is for them a place of acceptance, a place for meeting the Christian values, a place where they can learn how to be prepared for life and also is a playground where they can meet friends and have fun. The centre offers various programmes:Regular activities:Oratory - open club for children, oratory is a place for sport, entertainment and education. The main objective of oratory is teaching the participants how to keep the rules and how to take responsibility for their behaviour. Oratory is open everyday from 2:15 p.m. till 6 p.m.. In oratory pedagogues also help children with preparation for school. Workshop - we offer different regular activities for children and youth, for example- sport activities: football, table tennis, fitness activities, juggling etc.,- musical activities: singing, playing the instruments, theatre,- creative activities: drawing, experiments, cooking etc.- dancing activities: freestyle,- spiritual activities: altar boys, - other activities: board games, computers, English language etc.The main objective of the workshop is to lead children and young people to regularity and development of skills, team work, friendship and tolerance. Oratory in the streets - we have a caravan and everyday we go to the 5 socially excluded areas in Ostrava to work with pre-school children and children of the primary schools. The main objective of this programme is communication and social skills development and increasing the awareness about the world around them. Animators - the main objective of this programme is to prepare and involve young people from the Czech Republic to the voluntary service in our centre. We also provide practical trainings for the students of pedagogy or social work. Irregular activities - weekend events and summer camps, - daycare camps- cultural events- competitions and tournamentsEvery year we cooperate with many non-governmental organisation, other salesian youth centres in the Czech republic and also abroad and also with primary and secondary schools in Ostrava. The particular project will be coordinated by the non-governmental organisation Trendum, o.p.s. from Ostrava. Trendum is focused on a soft skills development of young people and offers non-formal educational activities for young people and youth workers, including international projects such as youth exchanges and training courses, and has many experiences with EVS and also with running national and international projects.

- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
