Argonauti, social cooperative company was founded in 1999 in Palermo by a group of volunteers previously involved in the local association “Arciragazzi”, with the aim to be active in the community to stimulate and empower educational and personal development activities for the community.Argonauti has also the aim to promote youth rights, with a special focus on information and participation.Since its foundation, Argonauti has implemented activities focused on youth participation and social integration, focusing on young people from social and economic disadvantaged backgrounds.Both local and international actions have indeed been addressed to promote youth participation as a tool for social inclusion and active citizenship.Argonauti has developed during years a local networking methodology, including public and private bodies, educational agencies and other actors working with kids, young people and disadvantaged families.Among others, current partners of the Social Cooperatives are Offices of Juvenile justice, public health system, municipal social services and organziations of the Non profit sector.Argonauti is also member of the local network of Youth aggregation centres and since 2000 is member of the national network “Arciragazzi”.
