Our Organisation's main acitivites are in two fields that partially overlap: We focus on day care services for children and their families (nurseries, kindergarden, school social work and care) and on education for families and the local population, meaning offering support in finding and developing self-help skills and advancing personal development, giving information where needed and encouraging voluntary work. Our target groups are children, families and people of all generations that live in our town or nearby.We have approximately 135 employees, many volunteers and also many young people in practical trainings. Hosting: We run a local centre - a so-called "Mehrgenerationenhaus" that offers to everyone living locally various services and drop-in facilities: self-help groups, leisure acitivity groups (drama, needle work, yoga, languages etc.). It is a meeting place for people across all ages and interests and hobbies. The activities change according to the suggestions, needs and interests of the users. Most activities are initiated and run on a voluntary basis by local citizens. Issues covered range from post-natal care to coping with puberty or dementia. Another aspect of our issues is supporting refugees living in our town. On the same grounds and attached to the "Mehrgenerationenhaus" is a parent-child drop-in facility (the "Eltern-Kind-Gruppe Juno" that offers care and support for young mothers and fathers and their children from birth to three years. Sending: We firmly believe that living and working in another European country is a unique opportunity to - advance personal and inter-cultural skills, - learn one or more foreign languages, - further self-confidence- become more open-minded and - gain insights into professions, organisations and social issues that wouldn't otherwise be possible. We know from experience that the European Voluntary Service will enrich your and our life and have a lasting positive effect. We are a sending organisation with contacts to several other European countries and always willing to send to new ones, according to the best interest of the volunteer. We host from established partners and are very happy to work with new partners.
