Civil Forum for Peace was founded in 2007 at the initiative of Georgian and Ossetian civil society activists and NGOs, with the support of the Dutch peace organization IKV PAX Christi.
In the aim of trust building and creating a peaceful atmosphere of coexistence in Georgian and Ossetian societies, Civil Forum promotes dialogue between the divided groups. More specifically, Civil Forum organizes different meetings among Georgian and Ossetian activists, experts and journalists. The organization sets youth engagement in these events as one of its main priorities.
Civil Forum also support local youth development and empowerment , offer various projects and possibilities to become active citizens.
Mission of the organization
- Promoting dialogue between Georgian and Ossetian societies;
- Sustaining full social integration of those affected by Georgian-Ossetian conflict and the war of 2008;
- Peaceful resolution of the conflict;
- Using media (Journal) as a tool of cooperation;
- Erasmus + program at the local and international level;
Objectives
- To set up alternative negotiation schemes through the participation of analysts and leaders;
- To organize the peace process;
- To implement youth projects for IDP youth;
- To Implement Erasmus + activities ( Y/E ,TC ,EVS ) local and International level
Inclusion topics
This organisation is willing to involve volunteers who face situations which make their participation in activities more difficult, from the following categories for different types of project:

- Geographical obstacles
- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
