Description de l'organisation

Kinder- und JugendKulturWerkstatt JOJO is an institution for Youth, Family and Education of the City of Leipzig. We are member in national professional associations on regional and national level and take an active role in current discussions on cultural education.
With our offer, we focus on children and adolescents aged between 3 and 20 years. In various courses, they can try their creative, artistic ideas and develop them with support of artists. Our focus is in the areas of theatre/role play, dance, fine and applied arts and media. For children and young people in the courses, there are always opportunities to present their work to the public.
International contacts play especially in the work with young people a role. In various artistic projects, we offer them the opportunity to familiarize themselves with other cultures, to interact with young people from other countries and to work together artistically. In addition to our regular theatre projects with young people from Spain, Italy and Sweden, there are also contacts to Poland, Estonia, the Netherlands and Ethiopia. The financing of these projects is via EU funding, the municipality and various foundations. In the Kinder- und JugendKulturWerkstatt we also have a German volunteer (FSJ / culture). In the past he/she has worked in various fields with the European volunteer. The young people enrich our work with their experiences, ideas and
projects and get with us the opportunity of orientation, to get involved and to try out for themselves.
