The Stuttgarter Jugendhaus Gessellschaft (stjg) as a whole, maintains and operates 41 facilities for children, youngsters and young adults, which provide them with a place to spend their free time, various free time activities and courses. These centers also serve as places for communication with children and young people. The goal of stjg is to emancipate young people, help them to realize and establish their place in the society, and become active members of it. ProjektWERK (www.projektwer-jugendhaus.de) is a project office established in 2006 , which belongs to stjg, in particular to the Projects & Transition Education - Occupataion Department. It is located in an outpost office (Viehhofstr. 10, 70188, Stuttgart). It is responsible for projects and events, which are organised throughout the year, but especially during the summer months. Its tasks include fund-raising, project acquisitions, applying for projects, project controlling and their implementation. ProjektWERK implemented many projects, including international ones, for example the 2009 UNESCO World Youth Festival for young people from all over the world, or the 2012 German-French Student Parliament with participants from over 100 schools in both countries. One of the biggest annual events is Stutengarten (www.stutegarten.de), a children's playtown, during which children can experience a week-long program in their own ‘city’. Other events include Summer Science Camp, Christmas workshops, Crimi Week, etc.ProjektWERK has also been accredited as an EVS coordinating, sending and receiving organization since 2007.
