Description of organisation

The international day-care center “Kölner Straße” sponsored by the educational non-profit association Lehrerkooperative e.V. is based in Frankfurt’s Gallus quarters – an area with a higher-than-average percentage of migrant families. The children have diverse national and cultural backgrounds. Most of them are born and raised in Germany and do have German citizenship. To a great extent, their families retain strong connections to their home countries. At the moment, the facility looks after 14 preschoolers aged 3-6 and 18 children aged 6-11 who go to an after-school care club. Right now, the children we take care of and their families come from 16 different nations.
