KDYS has been working with young people since 1971 throughout the Diocese of Kerry. Each year KDYS supports over 4,000 young people and their families through a range of targeted and universal, community-based programmes.
Our mission: KDYS is a community-based youth work organisation committed to serving all young people in a safe, fun and positive environment, through the provision of youth spaces, services, mentoring, training and ongoing opportunities for their holistic development.
Our vision: For all young people to be valued and supported to achieve their full potential as participating members of the community.
Our core values: Inclusive; Respectful; Non-judgemental; Young person centred; Empowering; Rights-based.
We use a highly innovative Integrated Services Model to deliver our work. This means that regardless of where a young person is located, or what supports they require, they can access those supports in their community.
KDYS eurÓg Centre is a Council of Europe Quality Labelled Youth Centre in Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland. We have been a part of this network of 14 centres, whose aims are to serve the youth sector and young people whilst upholding and promoting the principles advocated by the Council of Europe since 2016. Our Quality Label was reviewed and renewed in 2018 and we look forward to successfully repeating this process in 2025.
