Descripción de la organización:

Our Kindergarten belongs to the University of natural resources and life sciences Vienna. It is available for student´s children and children of the university employees and other children if places should remain. The parents must take part in the kindergarten´s daily routine and running as we are a cooperative Kindergarten and not a private for profit company. We have 7 active employees as kindergarten teachers. We have 3 persons as assistants that work in the kindergarten and have hosted several EVS volunteers. Additionally, the childrens´s parents are actively involved in the kindergarten activities such as baking days and join excursions as extra support for the staff, take care of administrative duties and act as handymen fixing up and cleaning the kindergarten when needed. We are financed by our membership fee, some City of Wien money, BOKU University, Boku student´s union and also do some special charity to increase our budget and raise our profile in the wider university community.

There are 55 children in the Kindergarten on a regular basis. The timetables of children are very flexible and adaptable to the needs of parents and children, so the number of children present at the same time in the kindergarten is very flexible. According to this, the philosophy of the kindergarten is one of very individual care. The kindergarten teachers offer activities according to the wishes and needs of the children: creative activities and sports activities (both indoors as outdoors) are two focal points if the work of the teachers and parents with the children. The kindergarten is by the University of natural resources and life sciences (BOKU) in the north western part of Vienna. It is surrounded by several parks and within easy to reach by public transport. The opening times of the kindergarten are : Mon-Thurs: 07:45-17:15, Fri 7:45-15:30. The volunteer normally is provided with hot organic lunch with the staff and the children.
