Towarzystwo Edukacji Otwartej TEO (Open Education Society) is an ngo devoted to education of people of all ages. It was
established on February 8th, 2002, and two years later it was granted the non-profit organization status. Since its beginning,
TEO has been commited to providing education balancing on the edge of the formal, highly bureaucratic and competitive,
educational system in Poland, with strong focus on art. Today, TEO is the Governing Authority of four schools: a secondary art
school, a general secondary school (both of them constitute one body - ALA, Autorskie Licea Artystyczne i Akademickie), ALA in Częstochowa, ITS, ASTW,
ABRYS - a post - secondary design school, and Jaskółka - a primary school, starting September, 2016. All four schools are
student - oriented, focusing on individual learning needs, skills and preferences and team work; ALA also has an experimental
school status - that means it is allowed not to follow strictly the Polish Educational Bill, and implement a lot of own ideas and
concepts.
TEO's main aim is to provide the education over boundaries - be it social, religious, political or others. By open education, TEO
understands education supporting individual needs, students' right to follow their own path of interests, freedom to choose the
problems, methods and ways of learning, as well as to be able to assume responsibility for their lives. It's cooperation over
competitiveness, democracy over feudalism and people over any system.
- Cette organisation est titulaire d’un label de qualité du corps européen de solidarité. Le label de qualité certifie que l’organisation est en mesure de mener des projets conformément aux principes et aux objectifs du corps européen de solidarité.
