Sombor Educational Center (SEC) is a youth organisation that aims to improve status of children, youth and marginalized groups. We believe in citizenship in which these three groups enjoy all the rights guaranteed to them and are motivated to actively work for changes in their local community and beyond. Our mission is to support and empower children, young people and marginalized groups and to sensitize local community to improve their position through socially responsible activism. Local community in which we work is located in the northwest of Serbia. Sombor is one of the largest cities in the autonomous province of Vojvodina which has 6 official languages. Here you can meet a lot of different cultures, learn many of the traditional customs and know about the ethnic and religious minorities. Local community is safe, multicultural and colorful. Our office is located in the heart of the city, so it is easily accessible to all major outlets in the city. Organization has planned and realized a number of seminars, workshops, conferences, trainings and other activities in order to achieve our goals. We have 20-30 local volunteers with whom we work constantly. SEC is a member of many national, regional and international associations among which are National Youth Council of Serbia and The National Association of Practitioners of Youth Work. SEC team consists of young people who are constantly working on their development.
