The Asociación BONA GENT, Amigos de las Personas con Discapacidad Intelectual (hereinafter the Asociación BONA GENT) is a non-profit association, created in 1980 and declared of Public Utility by the Council of Ministers, whose mission is to improve the quality of life of people with intellectual functional diversity and that of their families.
Through the development and implementation of the Plan for Equal Treatment and Opportunities between Women and Men, endorsed by the Ministry of Equality and Inclusive Policies, our organisation commits and assumes the principle of equal opportunities as part of its organisational policy.
It serves people with intellectual functional diversity, young people and adults, in fundamental areas in a person's life such as: Leisure and free time, Social Life, Work, Permanent Education and Housing. It also offers services for the support and care of families such as: School for Parents, Respite Stays, Emergency Respite, Home Help, Guidance Service, ...
It is our goal to provide, through the services we offer, the necessary support for the person with intellectual functional diversity to develop to the fullest.
It is also the purpose of BONA GENT, to sensitise and inform society in general, about the reality of people with intellectual functional diversity and their families.
Our aim is to encourage and promote social volunteering and guarantee their training, through:
+ Promote self-determination and integration of people with intellectual functional diversity in the environment they live.
+ Promote alternatives for training, socialisation and functional literacy, to promote independence and personal autonomy.
+ Support and promote independent living and offer them everything they need to achieve a quality life.
+ Accompany and guide people with intellectual functional diversity in the process of training and job placement.
+ Encourage and promote social volunteering and guarantee their training.
+ Offer support, respite, information and guidance to families.
+ To make the world of functional diversity known to society in general, through awareness-raising and training actions.
+ Encourage the enjoyment of leisure and free time of the person with intellectual functional diversity.
- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
