Futurnoi Soc. coop. soc.was founded in 2002 when, thanks to the Regional Law n.22/86 about the reorganization of the social assistance services in Sicily, a group of young psychologists voted their service to the needs of children and adolescents living in social and family discomfort.
Referring to this, the cooperative aims to offer to these minors housing in its structure a family-type system capable of taking care of them, fostering their growth, developing their talents.
The target group of Futurnoi is composed of minors and adolescents who, regardless of territorial belonging and aged between 8 and 13 years are hosted there since they have been temporarily moved away from the family by the Juvenile Court.
The hosted minors and adolescents, after the first period deputy to their reception and integration, spend their days according to regular rhythms, though not strict, where the fundamental point is school compulsory attendance and their skills recovery, educational and not.
Thanks to an internal operating system based on "the daily doing" and in line with our minors talents, wishes and needs, we guarantee for everyone among them the opportunity to do extracurricular activities, both outside and inside the cooperative ranging from dance, gym, football school, martial arts or playful, artistic and manufacturing workshops in order to to intercept those aspects most "operating" of every child and adolescent to provide tools and opportunities for developing them profitably.
This kind of work affects the mental processes of hosted minors and adolescents, triggering new ones, more adaptive and congruent with growth.
Moreover, starting from the attention paid to its guests, Futurnoi promotes projects aimed at improving the quality of life, prevention, health promotion, intervention in the psychological, sociological, educational and information field ,even enhancing the environmental, territorial, human and cultural resources and also promoting the education of experts involved in the social services.
