Description de l'organisation

Études et Chantiers Île de France is an association of Popular Education, Social and Solidarity and Circular Economy which exists since 2001. Engaged with our local partners all around the Parisian region, we use an active pedagogy based on our values : sharing, solidarity and respect of differences. Our actions aim to involve citizens in common projects of general interest contributing to solidarity and sustainable development. We act in Occupational integration and Volunteering, using our skills in non-formal education to enhance the power of action and participation of youngsters and adults, French and foreigners, in short or long term implication.
Those actions can take various forms such as :
- Occupationnal integration : year long contracts for adults having strong professional and personal difficulties in order to facilitate their employment. Within a team they are learning technical, personal and interpersonal skills on a specific topic such as gardening, bike’s mechanic and construction.
- Entrepreneurship Training : 3 month for young people of 18 to 30 to learn and experiment their own business activities in the field of Social and Solidarity Economy.
- Voluteering :
o International Workcamps are short terms missions of 2-3 weeks gathering 10 to 20 people from all around the world to help out on a local community project. They live on site, discover the region and share their culture between them and the inhabitants.
o European Solidarity Corps are middle to long term of 2 month up to 1 year. Gives opportunities to Europeans from 18 to 30 to be volunteer in the EU or program partners. They realize actions that benefits the local community, live and discover the countries and regional culture. It may be in groups or individual.
o Service Civique are long term volunteering from 6 to 12 months in France. Participants can be French or not but have to be living in France during all the volunteering. Missions are offered at Etudes et Chantiers Ile de France mainly about sustainable development and social actions, and in other organisations.

We are affiliated to networks on different scales:
national : Cotravaux, HeureuxCyclage, chantiers école, FUB
Since 1959, Cotravaux is working on the promotion of volunteering in the national territory.

European : The Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organisation that represents national organisations which promote intercultural education, understanding and peace through voluntary service. The Alliance, founded in 1982, is presently made up of 51 full, associate and candidate member organisations. 38 of our members are based in 20 E+ programme countries; 6 in Armenia, Bielorussia, Ukraine and Russia; 7 in Canada, Japan, India, South Korea, Mexico and Nepal. 44 of our members are based in 24 countries members of Council of Europe.

International : CCSVI (Coordinating commitee for International Voluntary Service, UNESCO) : The network promotes the cooperation between members through projects and campaigns, seminars, regional structures and joint actions. It also promotes the concept of voluntary service in new areas and encourages pilot projects and initiatives in different thematic fields of work, supporting the capacity building and quality improvement of volunteers involving organisations.
