Primary School De Schalm, part of Stichting Talentis (before Stichting Leijestroom), was established more than 90 years ago. They educate children from 4-12 years old. They educate and coach them to become beautiful people. Primary school De Schalm uses the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), this is a comprehensive, thematic, creative curriculum for 6-12 years olds, with a clear process of learning and with specific learning goals for every subject, for international orientation and for personal learning. As there are 21 different spoken languages within the school, the parents association see English as a high priority within the school and promote intercultural projects so the children are more world-aware. As an IPC school, primary school De Schalm is also connected with eTwinning in Europe. This is a learning platform for teachers where knowledge is shared by sharing best practices. The school wants to offer children the opportunity to develop themselves by bringing children into contact with phenomena and changes in our multicultural society, preparing the children for that form of secondary education that best suits their possibilities and interests. Being an educational organization for children, the school has a very social attitude and focus. Mr. J. Coolen, is the principal in Vught.
