Young Europe Society is a non-governmental non-profit organization that aims to contribute to the development of young people by inspiring them a sense of active citizenship. Its main headquarter is in Bilbor, a relatively isolated village that offers limited opportunities for young people. Therefore, we strive to have a positive impact on youths from this community, but also through our activities we managed to extrapolate the impact on a larger scale, by engaging young people from all over the country in exchanges organized by us in multinational contexts. We have another important working point in Miercurea Ciuc where our volunteers develop nonformal and outdoor activities for youths.

Since it's foundation, in 2012, Y.E.S.'s mission is to promote and bring added value to participative education and active citizenship, while developing solid partnerships with institutions, organizations and individuals that are active in the same field. In addition to this Y.E.S.'s goal is to facilitate exchange of experiences between young people in order to raise the level of information and tolerance, as well as to increase youngsters’ awareness with regards to different cultures and attitudes.

Aims of the organisation are:
Promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship in particular;
Develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people, in particular in order to foster social cohesion in Europe;
Support mutual understanding between young people in different countries, by fostering unity in diversity;
Promote European cooperation in the youth field, with regard on non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue;
Encourages the employability and inclusion of all young people, regardless of their educational, social and cultural background.

In its daily activities Y.E.S. organizes and implements projects aimed at increasing cooperation with local youth, ensuring active participation of young people in local life. We closely collaborate with the secondary schools from Bilbor and other towns of the Harghita County, such as Balan, Miercurea Ciuc; partnership that lead to a considerable raise of the level of intercultural skills among the youngsters. During the last years, Y.E.S. collaborated with a large number of NGOs from RO, as well as from other countries and together managed to successfully implement various YEs, TCs and PBAs.

We built a close collaboration with representatives from formal institutions as well, such as: Maior of Balan, the Prefect of the Harghita County, the Maior of Constanta which offered us support and opened their doors for the participants from our activities and share their knowledge and experience with them. To name just a few examples in which public institutions offered us support those would be KA3 "Cunoaste-ti Constitutia"(2016-1-RO01-KA347-023121), which gathered 40 Romanian young people and 8 decision makers in order to raise awareness of the Constitution among youngsters; KA3 "Black Sea and the Youth Policy" (2016-2-RO01-KA347-024842)- a structured dialog that reunited 40 youths from 4 countries, but also Representatives of the Romanian Parliament and Government, Representatives of the Environment and Education Ministries from Turkey and Bulgaria and experts on the protection of sea and coastal areas, with the aim of setting the basis of a policy draft that will involve more the young people in the decision-making and the raising awareness of the protection of the Black Sea transnational policies.

Also, we learned through our experiences how to work with foreign partners, how vital is to have a well communication strategy and how important is to make full use of all the resources you have in order to make a positive impact through all the project implemented:

Our members and volunteers are coming from different areas of the country which give us a variety of ideas and perspectives, but also the chance to act and run activities in more cities and towns of the country, from small villages like Bilbor to modern cities like Bucuresti and Cluj.
