ATA (Atlantic Treaty Association) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1954 in Brussels, as part of an international network of 37 NGOs around Europe and beyond, promoting the values of democracy, peace and security, promoted by the European Union and UN Charter. ATA’s Network is an ideal platform to support the mobility of young people. ATA's main mission consists in building solidarity links among different communities through conducting research, analyses, training and education. ATA promotes the international and European values of cooperation between national and international actors, NGOs, think tanks and civil society, in a comprehensive approach to foster peace and security.
In particular, ATA focuses on the domain of raising awareness of democracy, peace and security, in particular on the role of women in peace and security, in light of a string implementation of the UN Resolution 1325, energy security and social resilience. ATA is engaged in Development Cooperation Education through organizing on-formal activities, seminars, training courses and study visits. The main priorities of the organization is international exchange of youth and European integration.
