Fondazione Caritas Senigallia Onlus (FCSO) is a non governamental organisation active in the care of disadvantaged and people in need. As foundation it was founded in 2008 and since 2009 it manages all services and structures of Caritas Senigallia, but it works in this field since 1972.
Its target groups are: marginalized people and people living in serious poverty condition; people living in precarious conditions; unemployed, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. Specifically, FCSO provides services and support to alone women with children, poor people, families living economic and housing difficult situations, elderly, unemployed people, homeless, people with mental diseases and immigrants, migrants and refugees. FCSO has several structures to face and to address different form of marginalization and difficulties: an adult's Shelter (Centro di Solidarietà); 10 apartments for temporary accommodation of families with economic difficulties (Casa Stella); 1 shelter (Casa Alberici) for women refugees accommodation - CAS, one shelter - Casa San Benedetto- for medium-long accommodation for women with children;
An other important work tool is the “Observatory of the poverty and resources”, which collects quantitative and qualitative data in order to better identify and fight the causes of poverty and social exclusion within the target area.
FCSO since 2013 has developped specific programs and project in favour of refugees and asylum seekers, partecipating in national sistem of welcoming and reception for Asylum seekers - SPRAR program.
The work methodology of FCSO is based on creating individual path, designed on the personal needs and situation of the users of services provided and aimed to facilitate their long term inclusion and autonomous life. These paths are designed through a cooperation among Caritas, social services, local institutions, other associations and the private sector.
FCSO has a long experience also in cooperation and development through exchanges, twinning programs and financing projects in foreign countries, especially in the Balkan and Mediterranean areas, thanks to their geographical proximity. Since 2013 FCSO has developped long term EVS programs.
FCSO has its offices and headquarters in the centre of Senigallia, in walking distance from the apartment where volunteers will live. The offices are located in the same building of the diocesan administration. The other structures of FCSO are all around the city and in the neighborrd cities, reachable by walking or by public transportation.
The staff are composed by the director, vice-director and the administrative team (about 26 workers) plus operators, educators, experts and volunteers who are working in the structures of FCSO.
