EUROPEUM focuses on activities aimed at various target groups such as policy makers, civil servants, business representatives, academia, think tankers, but in the spotlight of our activities are citizens with a special attention put on younger generation. EUROPEUM was founded in year 1998 by professors and students of Charles University in Prague and through 20 years of various activities developed to well-known Prague based think-tank with office also in Brussels, which was in the year 2018 announced as the best think-tank in the Czech Republic and the third best in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.
EUROPEUM undertakes various regular, long-term activities aimed directly at citizens, such as series of debates in Prague and other regions (“Café Evropa”), educational projects (“EuropaSecura” or the “European Summer School”) or discussions designed especially for students “(EU plus minus”, “Future Leaders of Europe Evening Talks”). Within, but not only in those activities, EUROPEUM organizes more than 100 events every year, manages around 15 own projects and takes parts in many other projects of our partners. Our activities are based on three main pillars – research, organization and communication, working closely together in order to achieve our goals. We focus on public involvement throughout various debates, seminars and educational projects and on academia and policy makers by organizing expert round tables, conferences, policy papers and other publication done within our own research. Our members also consult EU related topics with different interest groups and frequently occur in media such as internet, newspapers and TV – more than 120 times a year.
EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy is dynamic organization and our core team consists of young enthusiastic people working from our offices at the Old Town Square in the heart of Prague to bring Czech visions to Europe and European visions for Czechia – as stated in our motto. We have a very flat organisational structure with very friendly relations, where interns can easily discuss everything with our Director and each member can rely on the team. We spend time together during our journey to events all over the Czech Republic and also abroad, have lunches together and often go for a beer or some sports after working hours. Our work attitude and aim to work-life balance creates very nice work environment, where even a young person can get a lot of responsibility and trust, develop a wide scale of skills and knowledge and meet very interesting people from public and private sector.
