Description de l'organisation
MJC Montchat is a not-for-profit association under the law of 1901. It is based in the Montchat district of Lyon's 3rd arrondissement, a highly residential area that resembles a ‘village in the heart of the city’. Founded on the values of sharing, openness and commitment, MJC Montchat rests on three essential pillars: Home, Youth and Culture. These pillars structure its collective project. The MJC is a living house. It's a place where different generations, cultures and social backgrounds can share and meet. It's a place where there are many opportunities for social interaction and conviviality. It's a shared home where members have a say, whether to participate in the democratic process or to find their place as volunteers. It is a centre for non-formal education, a place where people grow together in respect and diversity. It is rooted in its local community, with which it forges strong links (schools, colleges, associations) to build a shared future together. For the MJC, young people don't have just one profile. The MJC welcomes a wide range of young people, rich in their differences and their histories. It supports young people in all their diversity, from an early age right through to adulthood.
