Riga Municipal Children's Youth Center, was established on December 1, 2009. Youth Centers have high-qualified staff members: social workers, pedagogues, psychologists, etc., who provide positive and motivational relationships for children and young people to become independent and responsible individuals.
The Riga Municipal Children and Youth Center consists of 7 structural units providing home, care and education for 260 children and young people we are experienced and active organization, in Riga which provides a safe, stable, family-based, child-friendly family environment for eight children in one flat. Professional staff is responsibly and honestly caring for and protecting children and young people by providing them with support for their biological family.Employees provide positive and motivational relationships for children and young people to become independent and responsible individuals by giving them different opportunities for personal development. The daily life of young people is organized taking into account the goals of the youth homework. Young people attend educational institutions in Riga that are suitable for their abilities and interests. These are different high schools, vocational schools and universities. Some of them are trying to combine with paid work to make the savings or use that money for everyday needs.
Every young person receives catering money every week in his bank account to buy food and prepare daily meals individually. There is a great interest among young people in the various culinary classes in which they learn various cooking skills.
Young people take care of the organization of personal and youth homes (clothing, rooms and cleanliness of common areas, procedures and cleaning up the backyard). Young people are happy to take part in various educational activities like hiking, visiting entertainment events in Riga. The Riga Municipal Children and Youth actively organizes different local events, workshops, discussion , training and seminars locally as well as different opportunities for young people to participate on non-formal educational. We strongly believe that international volunteering is a great opportunity of personal development both for volunteers and local youngsters, who have a chance to participate on various events, organized by the volunteers, to get new skills and knowledge in different spheres and to have an experience of personal communication with international volunteers, which gives local youngsters a great opportunity to discover new culture, improve their foreign language skills. We are willing to use all our experience in youth work and various international projects in order to deliver the best quality ESC volunteering project.
