Description de l'organisation

SCI Catalunya is an organization that promotes the culture of peace and social justice through international volunteering, solidarity, the culture of peace and local activism. SCI works as a network, locally and internationally, to promote the participation of young people in short and long-term international volunteer projects. One of our areas of work is the promotion of volunteering as an education tool for peace, through different pedagogical methodologies such as volunteer camps, youth exchanges, international and local courses and seminars.

Our areas are the strengthening of interculturality, inclusion, environmental sustainability, networking and solidarity. SCI Catalunya understands participation in volunteer projects as a cycle that goes from the discovery of the entity and its local groups of volunteers, through training and volunteer experience; and on the way back, we encourage participation at the local level to achieve an active citizenry that wants to influence their own reality.

SCI Catalunya is a branch of the Service Civil International, it was created in 1982 and is a member of the European Youth Forum, the CCIVS (Committee Coordinator International Volunteering Service) and the Anna Lindt network. SCI Catalunya is also a member of the National Youth Council of Catalonia and the Barcelona Youth Council, in which it participates in their working groups.
