Let's Do It World (LDIW) is a global organisation and movement that tackles the environmental challenges related to the mismanaged solid waste crisis by mobilising millions of positive minded people into coordinated local and global actions and move towards a clean and waste-free planet. Let's Do It World aims to achieve the dream of a clean world by mobilizing 5% of the world's population for cleanup actions and implementing Keep It Clean Plan.
The main objectives of the LDIW include coordinating and supporting the environmental actions of the global movement, inspiring and empowering leaders to raise awareness and move countries towards more sustainable solutions. LDIW has teams in 158 countries.
Since the beginning, 37 million people in 165 countries have joined the global actions by cleaning up their countries. The biggest and well-known project is a World Cleanup Day.
World Cleanup Day on 15 September 2018 united 18 million people across 157 countries and territories for the biggest waste collection day in human history. The next World Cleanup Day will take place on 21 September 2019.
LDIW movement works as extensive civic cooperation, giving everyone a chance to make their home country and community better and engaging all social groups. The model of Let's Do It! is to engage at least 5% of the country's population and clean up the entire country from the mismanaged waste in just one day. The model consists of usage of technology, extensive communication and marketing actions, community-based activism and large cooperation between various NGOs, businesses, government institutions, etc. The main tasks of the HQ are to support and empower leaders in countries, promote the cleanup actions and inspire people around the world, as well as to support and share know-how within the international network to help more countries become clean.
Members of LDIW are working according to the Keep It Clean Plan, Zero Waste and Circular Economy principles.
- This organisation holds a European Solidarity Corps Quality Label. The Quality Label certifies that the organisation is able to run projects in compliance with the principles and objectives of the European Solidarity Corps.
