Lithuanian education center for blind and visually impaired is a comprehensive school which provides the opportunity for the blind and visually impaired to gain secondary education, to prepare for further studies and independent life. Apart from formal lessons students take part in orientation and mobility lessons, developing daily skills lessons, eyesight training, Braille script practice. As well as formal education, we giving huge attention to informal education too which contains a theatre, dance, ceramics, sports, art therapy, and music non-formal classes. We look forward to extending our possibilities to prepare students for the best independent life, with good experience, positive examples, and motivation to explore. We believe, that the best learning for blind or visually impaired people happens than when society is ready to help when they are surrounded by open-minded people and professional specialists.
Lithuanian education center for blind and visually impaired pays a lot of attention for teacher education and competence development too. Systematically we organize and participate in the various type of seminars, training, conferences, and ect. It is important for us to follow new teaching methods, technologies, literature.
