Beschreibung der Einrichtung

The Waldorf-Steiner El Til-ler School is a cooperative run by teachers and families. Founded in 1999 and approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2008, the school follows the Waldorf Pedagogy that wants to offer children and young people a pedagogy based on respect for each individuality and its development, with careful observation by the adult who accompanies their deepest needs and specific to each stage.
Apart from the bilingual teaching of Spanish and Catalan, our center is distinguished by the high value we give to the artistic and practical subjects.
The center now includes 4 groups of Infant Education (80 children in total), a line of 8 courses of Primary Education (with approximately 24 students per classroom). The 2019-20 school year has begun with the first year of the Baccalaureate, which corresponds to the 11th class. From 2010-21 we will have the center completed until the 12th year, in total approximately 280 schoolchildren from 6 to 18 years old.
The volunteer may participate in training workshops for future Waldorf teachers on weekends that suit them. Meetings and talks organized in the same school broaden the person's possibilities to learn about Waldorf pedagogy and related topics, such as orienting themselves for their future career path. And the volunteer is free to participate punctually in talks and workshops in other places, such as La Salle University in Barcelona. Participation in school excursions takes the volunteer to different places in Catalonia.
