CIPRA Slovenia, a national representative of the International Commission for the Protection of the Alps, is a non-governmental organisation with the vision to ensure the quality of life in the Alps. This vision contains both environment and people, and motivates sustainable development across the Alpine region. CIPRA Slovenia strives to preserve the natural a cultural heritage, maintain regional diversity, and urges solutions to cross-border problems. Youth is, together with climate protection, traffic and alpine politics one of the main fields of activities for CIPRA Our team of CIPRA Slovenia has strong experiences in sustainable mobility, environment protection and spatial planning. Therefore, one of our focus points is sustainable mobility. This is an important area which covers health issues, nature protection, quality of living, and urban planning. We are working weekly with other national CIPRA’s and CIPRA International. Together we are responding on Alpine wide topics, we have common information office (alpMedia), CIPRA International is supporting national CIPRA’s at technical and other problems.

Weekly activities are connected with project management (coordination, event organization, preparation of expert basis etc), we have projects meeting with partner organization and other co-workers. Monthly activities include collaboration with (local) target groups and media. Our partners are other non-governmental organization, municipalities, regional agencies, schools, companies working in the field of sustainable development. Currently we are involved in different projects from the field of sustainable mobility, forest and landscape management, public health care and urban planning, management of protected area, climate change, heritage protection and alpine politics.
