Primary School No. 1 in Kielce is a unique institution with its history and traditions. It is the oldest primary school in Kielce. Its patron, Stanisław Staszic, was one of the leading ideologists of the Polish Enlightenment. Students implement Staszic ideas on many levels of education. The facility is located near the city center, surrounded by Dygasiński Park. On one hand it is close to a shopping mall, on the other it is away from the city noise. It has a sports field, gym and canteen. Currently, approximately 419 children between the ages of 7 and 15 attend our facility.
The school is focused on the needs of the children, their family and local environment. It ensures good preparation of the students for the next stage of education, and at the same time it is susceptible to modifications enabling introduction of innovations and pedagogical experiments. The school's activities enable students to discover the world and their place in the world in an unconventional, multi-faceted and creative way, building an integrated picture of reality. The school creates opportunities for comprehensive development and acquisition of key skills that are necessary for 21st century people to consciously and responsibly function in the modern world and to find themselves on the constantly changing labor market. The introduced norms and social coexistence rules are consistently observed and enforced.
Safe conditions of mental and physical development and a large variety of extracurricular activities make the student enjoy the school stay. Our facility has a rich didactic base. We have, among others, 10 interactive sets consisting of boards with projectors, 2 fully equipped IT classes with computers for each child, 20 laptops for children and the same number of tablets. The object is open from Monday to Friday from 6.30 to 17.00.
Clean, colorful interiors, attractive - green areas around the school deepen the sense of security and make the students willingly stay here. Achieved successes in didactic and educational work are the result of the involvement of highly qualified, experienced and competent teaching staff, aware of the mission accomplished and open to the student's needs. It interacts with the children’s family environment in the field of upbringing and various spheres of development, undertaking initiatives integrating the local environment and cooperating with various institutions. The school's mission is to shape a graduate sensitive to the beauty and needs of the modern world and to equip it with the knowledge and skills needed for further education, for independent and responsible action. We develop positive character traits among students: resourcefulness, entrepreneurship, responsibility, creativity, empathy and respect. We shape values such as: truth, goodness, self-esteem and tolerance. Students learn two languages - English, from the first grade and German from the seventh. We offer additional classes in all subjects that serve to develop students' interests. We work with students coming from abroad, including from England and Ukraine. We also have many interesting projects. We offer chess, mathematics and IT classes as part of the European Union project "Cyfrowa Jedynka". In addition, students participate in cyber violence classes, as well as safety classes while using the Internet. We have received the "Open and Creative School" Quality Mark. We also have dance lessons as well as a dance team that represents our school in various professions. We offer additional sport activities for anyone who wants to be in shape and improve their sports skills. This year we are a billiard center. We also have classes covering learning through coding, using pedagogical innovations, in which we use coding mats, Photon and Ozobots. We also participate in the project "Education in places of national remembrance", strengthening the sense of identity among students. Our students participate in scientific and cultural activities in museums, galleries and science centers outside of school in or take part in tourist and sightseeing trips. We also cooperate with the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Center in Kielce, which provides relevant research and operates for children with special educational needs.We work with children, individualizing educational requirements and adapting requirements to their needs. Our students also take part in charity campaigns and operate in the School Volunteer Circle. We are open to the needs of students. Our children present their talents not only in the institution, but also in the local environment and in the media by participating in numerous competitions or campaigns.
