Beskrivelse av organisasjon

Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can! - this is the motto of the organisation.
The Foundation for Education and Development FLOW was established in 2013. Since 2015 we have been running the Crisis Intervention Center in Kwidzyn.
Centre is a place of social integration of children and youth from difficult environments. It works as a place where citizens can always turn to for help in various crisis situations. Delivers activities such as legal advice, psychological consultations, social counselling or parenting skills workshops but also individual corrective and educational programs for people using domestic violence are developed and implemented and educational workshops for various groups (pregnant minors, the disabled, the elderly).

The centre provides professional, immediate legal, social, psychological assistance to individuals and families in the Kwidzyn poviat, especially those experiencing the consequences of addiction, violence, traumatic losses and events, assistance in providing basic security and support, support in stopping destructive solutions and minimizing the costs of the crisis, preventing the crisis from turning into a state of chronic psychosocial failure, helping to plan long-term action to eliminate the causes of crises.
In the work of the Center, particular attention was paid to planning and conducting work in consultation and cooperation with various institutions responsible for helping the family in crisis, taking into account their specificity, resources and specific tasks. The foundation organizes conferences and seminars, training on effective environmental assistance to excluded people (in various dimensions): children, teenagers and adults.

Since 2018, the FLOW Foundation, together with the Kwidzyn City Hall and partners, has been implementing the project: "TOGETHER - for Kwidzyn social integration" aimed at increasing access to de-institutionalized and integrated social services in the field of family support (including large families) and foster care. As part of the project, we created the RAZEM Family Center, in which we opened: an after-school club, a youth club and a family counselling centre (within the counselling centre, individual psychotherapy, psychological consultation, addiction therapist consultations, psychiatric consultations, support group) - for participants from the regeneration area of the city.
Children from 6 to 13 years old attend the socio-therapeutic after-school club, and youth aged 13-18 attend the youth club; they are kids who have emotional problems, which are manifested, among others, verbal, physical, self-aggressive, non-compulsory schooling, use of psychoactive substances, social isolation, and emotional problems. Children in the common room and club come from environments where negligence or educational failure occurs. They are children who have learning difficulties, cause educational problems. Despite their problems, children willingly engage in classes, initiate joint games, are joyful and full of energy. The families of these children are mostly incomplete, with housing and material problems, where there is a big problem of educational failure or violence, addictions.

The Center conducts socio-therapeutic classes during which children learn the correct behaviour patterns and have the opportunity to work on their confidence and creativity. In addition, children learn order and responsibility through joint preparation of meals and work for the Center. Project participants also take part in theatre, art, survival, sports, cooking, etc. classes. Educational work is also carried out through physical activity, tutoring and help with homework. In addition, educators undertake work with children's families through interviews, support in crisis situations, assistance in completing documents or dealing with official matters. Our actions allow us to achieve the following goals: increase of social competences of kids, youth, project participants, increasing the number of people overcoming their social exclusion, changing the image of socially excluded people in a small community, increasing the ability to recognize one's own emotional resources, communication and task-related as well as self-confidence, learning how to work with projects in order to get involved in city life and implement activities for the local community and more.
