Descripción de la organización:

Krisol is an association that manages and maintains a Playgroup (from 3 to 6 years old) and a Waldorf Primary School located in Can Ballet-Villa Matilde, Premiá de Dalt, about 20 km from Barcelona.
Housed in an old villa and surrounded by 10 hectares of gardens, Krisol was founded in 2004 as a parents' initiative with a common goal: to create a space where the natural developmental process of children is respected so that they can build solid foundations in their relationships with themselves and with the world.
Escuela Krisol Waldorf-Steiner defines itself as multicultural, following the traditional christian celebrations of Catalunya and accommodates all types of religious and non-religious beliefs.
Krisol forms part of and is rooted in the socio-culture of Catalonia, therefore, the customs and traditions of our village and our culture are present and can be seen reflected in the pedagogical activities. Many festivals, events and further education are part of the daily life of the kindergarten and school.
The communication language of the school is Catalan. Spanish and English are also present in the form of stories, poetry and songs in different subjects such as Castilian/English language, eurythmy and arts and crafts.
Krisol belongs to the Xarxa d'Iniciatives i Escoles Waldorf de Catalunya and attends quarterly meetings. It is also part of the Asociación de Centros Educativos Waldorf Steiner.
We currently have an international community of 60 children from 48 families.
For optimal success we place the children at the center of our task. Around them, the Teaching Faculty members are the ones responsible for the accompaniment and education of the children. Embracing both, the families are the ones who sustain the Faculty, both economically and with our tasks.
The Waldorf pedagogy as a system of education is based on a deep anthropological knowledge of the human being and its different stages of development, which allows teachers to always attend to the true needs of each child.
For our teachers, the most important thing is not what is taught, but how it is taught. The educational program created by Rudolf Steiner is based on the child, on awakening the capabilities of the human being: think, feel and do, for this the teacher is an artist of education, who through the observation of the needs of children is delivering the content at the right time and in the right way at its evolutionary stage.
Krisol is for the whole families, where children and adults learn and evolve individually and collectively. Our organisation is more than a school. Our common goals imply all of us collectively and in turn give our children an important example of human collaboration and community.
