The Association Les Possibles aims to ensure the management and operation of the Mayenne Social Centre. The Association's aim is to animate local social life by being a place of resources and initiatives. The characteristic of this dynamic is to contribute to the development of the power to act of the inhabitants and families with an emancipatory intention. The objectives are the improvement of their living conditions, the strengthening of relations and solidarity between neighbours, the prevention and reduction of all forms of exclusion, education and the expression of citizenship, adapted to the social problems of the territory.

A Social Centre intends to be "a centre for initiatives carried by associated inhabitants, supported by professionals, capable of defining and implementing a social development project for the entire population of a territory".

The association Les Possibles defends a state of mind and a project based on :

- Actors
o Committed residents taking action
Volunteers of activities or activists committed to a better living together, the inhabitants are actors of the life and management of the Social Centre. Its very functioning depends on them. Involved in the elaboration, evaluation and life of the centre's project, the inhabitants are the driving force in a space where local democracy takes on its full meaning.
o Qualified employees and trained administrators
The qualification of the actors is one of the essential conditions for the success of the whole social project. It requires, in particular, the implementation of training courses for professionals as well as volunteers involved in the management or life of the centre.
o Associative and institutional partners
As a federator, the Social Centre invites associative and institutional partners to take part in all stages of the project, both at the grassroots level, during the shared diagnosis and during the implementation and evaluation of the project. Negotiation and contractualization are at the heart of the partnership.

- Ways of acting
o Favouring the participation of the inhabitants
Take your life in hand, exchange, participate, decide, the inhabitants are invited to do so at the Social Centre. As a true home of local democracy, Les Possibles places the participation of the inhabitants at the heart of its project.
o Developing a generalist and collective approach
The Social Centre is interested in everything that makes up the totality of the individual and the family (supporting the initiatives of the inhabitants, the projects of young people, supporting parents in their role as educators, being the guarantor of the animation of local life and social ties, etc.). It is through dialogue and participation in collective activities and projects that people learn to better control their lives and become active citizens.
o Contribute to the social development of the territory
The Centre places the social at the heart of development strategies. Built with the inhabitants and partners, the multi-year project is shaped from the particularities of the territory and its population.

- Values
Placing itself in the popular education movement, the Centre Social, affiliated to the Fédération des Centres Sociaux de France, refers its action and its public expression to four founding precepts:
o Recognizing the dignity and freedom of every man and woman is the primary attitude of the actors of the association;
o To consider men and women as being in solidarity, capable of living together in society;
o Opting for democracy, wanting a society open to debate and power sharing;
o Guaranteeing freedom of conscience to all means allowing everyone to believe or not to believe and ensuring the free expression of one's convictions while respecting those of others and within the limits of public order.

- Missions
o A place of family and intergenerational proximity, which welcomes the entire population while ensuring social diversity;
o A place where social life is animated, allowing the inhabitants to express, design and carry out their projects.

- One principle:
Les Possibles is situated in practice, and accompanies in order to favour the response to the social needs of the inhabitants on its territory of intervention. The association solicits collective competence, the mobilization of knowledge. Through a shared and participative diagnostic approach, the Social Centre brings together the various actors of the territory, whether they are inhabitants, elected officials, volunteers or professionals. By looking at each other, it elaborates a relevant and original diagnosis. The association invites everyone to take an active part in an inhabitants' project for the territory.
