Youthland is a youth association based in Vladimirescu, Arad, Romania. It was founded in 2019 by a team of young people, experienced in the field of Erasmus+ and youth work. Our aim is to contribute positively to the formation of a harmonious, inclusive and open-minded community, in the context of European values and demands. For this, we want to give support, guide, educate young people and facilitate their integration using non-formal education.
Our target is to encourage the youth to participate in activities that will:
- make them feel more European;
- attract them towards active citizenship, towards an active participation in the community`s life;
- give them opportunities for intercultural experiences;
- help them overpass some bad experiences
- increase their chances of being employed;
- raise awareness on environmental problems;
- help them deal with addiction and quit bad habits;
- show them the importance of a healthy lifestyle;
- positively change their attitude;
- encourage them to take part in volunteering activities;
- create opportunities where they can express themselves;
- make them feel they belong to a community;
- increase their self-esteem;
- improve their language and social skills;
- make them aware of their capacity and power;
- enlarge the horizons and establish a vision;
- give them entrepreneurial and budget management guidelines;
- improve their critical thinking;
- make them more tolerant and peacemakers;
- widen their knowledge on specific different topics;
- teach them how to deal with financial problems and so on.
We use sport, gastronomy, nature, music, dance, graffiti, theatre, origami, science, photography, digital technology and other topics as methods to approach and attract youngsters (and not only) towards their own development.
Youthland focuses on the harmonious development of the individual in all its extensions, encompassing the mental, the physical, the spiritual. Our team of people specialized in certain fields such as art, ecology, sports, food industry, economy, journalism, psychology and so on, contributes to the design and implementation of projects that will ensure the need for development in all aspects of life, fulfilling at the same time our main desire, to help create an egalitarian, inclusive, sustainable European society.
We mostly work with youth (13-30) from our county, in our activities, but also their relatives, friends, people of all ages can join in some activities. On our daily basis we work with local volunteers, mostly high school teenagers and teachers, but we plan to extend on national and international level. We ensure ourselves that by volunteering with us we give them the perfect space where to express their ideas, we help them increase their empathy level and sensitivity to other people's feelings, we develop their social and entrepreneurial skills which facilitates their personal development.
