The Active Education Methods Training Centres (CEMÉA) as a Popular & New Education Movement, are officially recognized non-profit organisations which complement the public school system, and whose goal is to train educational and social actors. This recognition allows we branch to benefit from a solid collective experience.
We are part of the French and International Network CEMÉA (FICEMEA), a network that has been keeping the educational action alive for over 70years. For years we have led a large social & collective experience and we have demonstrated militant ambitions to build a more inclusive, more egalitarian society, with educational and emancipatory perspectives, in agreement with the values of reinforced cooperation: public authorities /civil society/secularism/social economy/social promotion through popular education/civic engagement/academic success of all/and culture
Our staff is made up of 28employees, 102active members & our decision-making bodies 15members of the board of directors, 3of the Management, as well as volunteers, interns, associated organisations present throughout the region to exchange and pass on their social and societal commitment. Our actions begin with a meeting, in order for us to have the chance to exchange ideas, projects and to commit together to create, innovate and promote those ideas. We are a place of educational research which aims at experimenting and developing social interventions and allowing everyone to get involved.
We wants to extend its militant goal through all the activities of diffusion and experimentation of the values of the “New Education” inspired by great educators. Our main mode of action is the training of young workers, teachers and all professionals involved in educational issues. We are a movement of education that is attentive to the development of people as a whole. A new education that we promotes, drawing on the experience and expression of the people, and which is built through a close contact between practice and theory.
We have chosen training as our preferred intervention tool and we work on themes such as childhood, young adulthood, mental health, the elderly, citizenship, solidarity, thus promoting social and professional integration.We also offer training in the fields of voluntary or professional activity leading, of education and activity leading by offering youth and sports diplomas such as: BAFA, BAFD, CQP, CPJEPS, BPJEPS, DEJEPS, DESJEPS.
The Ceméa believes that training is best means of action to enable people to because autonomous citizens and to change their environment and institutions.
To sum up, we are: An educational movement that welcomes new activists, offers them a training course, which privileges action research during meetings, group workshops and training cycles of trainers which regularly bring together activists from different fields of intervention, in order to confront and deepen their practices and contribute to the development, the monitoring and the evaluation of the national and regional associative projects. A secular non-profit organisation committed to a policy focused on children, youth and leisure that offers training in voluntary activity leading, times dedicated to learning & citizenship for young people who will have to supervise children/An organisation working with the school that intervenes "with and within the school"/an organisation involved in culture which proposes projects to facilitate access to culture/a leader in European and international actions/a professional training organisation in the fields of education, health and social matters, which offers training in professional activity leading as well as continuing vocational training in the field of psychiatry & mental health.
Our Europe - International team has been involved in international projects for a few years. European activity is becoming cross-cutting to reach different sectors of activities, teams and learning audiences. Before/During /After Mobility support allows us to open a space for informal education and a space for intercultural education for all in order to break stereotypes, acquire social skills and give the opportunity to get involved in active and collective solidarity. Through our commitment to this programme, we promote volunteerism as a tool for everyone to work with others in building a European and international citizenship. We will give Volunteers the opportunity to understand the values of the New Education movement and to experience an intercultural approach through different types of activities: planning of cultural events/promotion of the ESC by presenting their experience as a volunteer/participation in pre-departure training/intercultural training organised by our partners or by us/Creating, planning and carrying out one or more personal projects based on volunteer skills. The project will have to adapt to we fields of action and will give volunteers the opportunity to develop their spirit of initiative.
