description de l'organisation

ASD Over Limits is an Amateur Sports Association affiliated to Special Olympics, established in 2013, registered in the CONI register and affiliated to the "Centro Sportivo Italiano".
The association has as its purpose the development and diffusion of sports activities, aimed at everyone, both to ablebodied people and people with disabilities, recognizing in particular sport as a means of psychophysical and moral training of disadvantaged categories and people with disabilities: children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with intellectual, sensory and physical disabilities, relationship and affective problems.
This objective is pursued by the proposal of any kind of amateur, competitive, recreational, didactic or any other type of motor and non-motor activity, suitable for promoting knowledge and practice of the various disciplines. A common feature of each is empowering people and fostering social inclusion.

The work team, coordinated by a behavioral psychologist, is made up of continuously trained sports professionals, supported by educational staff. The association offers sports activities of different disciplines (athletics, swimming, bowls, futsal, walking groups, cycling) to about 150 athletes with disabilities from 5 to 65 years old.

The activities, according to the needs identified during the taking in charge and functioning of people with disabilities, are proposed in individual and / or group mode. All groups are inclusive: together with athletes with disabilities, in fact, able-bodied volunteers of the same age train as team-mates. Users of the association are therefore offered the opportunity to experiment and develop their motor skills, using movement and sport as tools for personal growth and social inclusion, increase one's self-esteem, encouraging the relationship with a group of people often stigmatized in society.
On the pedagogical level, the strong inclusive connotation of the proposed activities allows users to develop their social talents and constructively use their free time. This type of activity allows at the same time able-bodied peers to experiment in a relationship that allows them to meet people before their disability.
Besides, didactic and training courses are proposed, as well as sports, in collaboration with schools of all levels.
Motor and sport activities are organized with particular attention to situations of social unease: adults, the elderly and all people with even temporary social discomfort; people with reduced motor skills, even temporary; Alzheimer's patients.

In addition to sporting activities, the association deals with the promotion, dissemination and organization of recreational, intercultural and socio-educational activities, for leisure time. This objective is embodied in the summer proposals ("Grest", "Summer Camp" for adolescents and young people and "Summer Camp baby") and in the laboratories ("Over Limits Factory Lab"), leisure activities, which are offered weekly to teenagers and young adults with disabilities and ablebodied
peers, in locations and in aggregation facilities located in the territory.
Interventions to foster aggregation, dialogue and support are also carried out, aimed at families of people with disabilities. In particular, a group of parents is met monthly for a "parent training" session managed by the association's psychologist.
