Primery School no 212 and THE CENTER OF SOCIAL THERAPY is an instytution which main task is to bring up and educate all the young people who have problems with adapting to the society. The members of our organisation work mainly with young people at the age of 11-18, who dropped out from the educational system. We take care about 40 teenagers.
They get to our instytution on the basis of the psychologist`s opinions wrote by their class and subject teachers. Our instytution takes care of their education – the youth attend a primary school and they stay in this instytution up to the age of 18.
Our entrusted have been brought up in families with different kind of problems: abusing of alcohol, violence, unemployment and lack of money. In many cases they are live in families whose members are unable to communicate properly with each other and lack of ability to bring up their children.
Their main problems include :problems with learning ( usually coused by the constant absence at school), alcohol abusing, drugs
These children very often have been playing truant from school, have conflicts with their former teachers and schoolmates. Sometimes they committed their first crimes: petty thefts. Children who are under our centre care very often have problems with adaptation themselves to their societies. They have a problem with addicted to the computer games. Some of them had first court cases for different crimes. They all have to cope with the feeling of hopelessness and the fact that stand no chances for good life in future.
Sometimes this is the last chance for them to finish their education. Apart from the fact that they can accomplish their education there, we ( people working with them) take care of organising activities for them after lessons.
Because they live in our center young people can participate participate in different kind of active forms of spending free time. We try to prepare and propose such activities witch would be suitable for their age, interests, and needs.We try to prepare these children to start (enter) their adult life, so we have to teach them all the abilities and skills needed to start a successful life as a mature person.
Our main task is to help such people to find some good points in them and to change their opinions about themselves and their future life. We start our job from encouraging a young person who needs our help. Then we spend a lot of time with them and try to prepare a special sociological and therapeutic activities (training). At the same we aim at preparing young people for functioning properly in a society such working with them has got a resocialising & therapeutic meaning in every aspect.
